Nirmala is from the NUS Physics department. During her UROPS, she has worked on machine learning codes to help in the prediction of 2D material energy band gaps. She has also taken up a short computational project to calibrate the time resolution of MCPs for the ETH CMS project at CERN during her exchange at ETH Zürich. At Qove lab, she hopes to take part in her first experimental research project, gain insight into the working of a quantum tech lab and learn about Lithium Niobate Integrated Photonics.

During her free time, Nirmala enjoys sunrise and sunset walks, watching comedies, reading, cycling along the coastline, hiking, dancing Bharatanatyam, catching up with friends and family and trying out new sports.
